About a week and a half ago, the weather turned in Knoxville and a lot of snow and ice came to us all of a sudden! The entire mall closed 3 hours early and when I walked out to the parkinglot, this is what I saw! What an amazing sight for this girl from Texas! I felt confident that I would be fine since I had driven my Suburban to work....and then I did a complete 360 in the parking lot and my over inflated confidence quickly deflated!
I drove extremely slowly to the neighborhood and was relieved when I got to the entrance safely. As I attempted to climb the last hill before our house, my huge monster of a Suburban would have nothing of it!. My sweet, sweet man met me on the corner and on we trudged towards the house in the ice and snow and me wearing a skirt and heels! Oh what a practical girl I am!
For all the bitter cold, the swirling snow was a glorious sight indeed. I stopped to take in it's silent beauty.
After a 1/4 mile walk and meeting a few neighbors who were out enjoying the fresh powder, we finally made it home! This is our little world's view.....
I quickly came inside to a warm house and a beautiful new rug to curl up on. Warm hot chocolate and good tv made the evening nice and cozy.....
Did I forget to mention comfy jammies? Life is good..... :)
Spiffola pajamas.
ReplyDeleteLove the PJs! I remember doing my first 360 in the snow. Scary! Glad it was just in the parking lot!
