And here we are at our reception! Michael and I decided to rent out one of our favorite Restaurants, Bistro by the Tracks . We went to Bistro for one of our first dates and it quickly became a frequented spot for us! One night, right after Michael and I got engaged, we were sitting at the bar having a drink and agonizing over the perfect spot to have our reception. We wanted a venue that gave us good food, good dancing and good drinks! Not too big and not too small and not too foo-foo! As we were talking, we began looking around and realized that the Bistro was perfect! And so it began....

Such an entrance! Can you tell how excited we are? We had just been announced as 'Mr. and Mrs. Michael Petrone' to our guests and we could not be happier!
And these are the shoes that started it all! We simply had to have them on display at the wedding since they were such a major part of the beginning of Rosemary and Michael. I will keep them forever and hopefully one day, tell our little girl my 'Cinderella' story and that Princes DO exist and dreams really do come true! For those of you who don't know the story....
I moved from the coast of Texas to Knoxville Tennessee pretty much on a whim. I had been to Knoxville one time and found it to be beautiful, so when it was time for me to move, I was Knoxville bound!
I was up here for about 6 weeks and had gone on a couple of lack luster dates. One evening while drinking a beer with my friend, I met some friends of hers. Chris and Christa! I bonded immediately with Christa and told her of my dating woes and then came to the epiphany that since she was married, she surely knew of a single man that she could set me up with! And she did!
About a week later, Michael and I finally spoke on the phone and decided to meet up that evening for our "Interview". We met at a dive bar and shared a beer. We just sat and talked for hours until we finally had to call it an evening when we could no longer keep our eyes open!
Michael walked me to my car and told me that he wanted to see me again. He gave me a hug goodnight and that was it! I felt my stomach leap up and down and then the butterflies started! It was then that I KNEW that I liked this man!
The "Interview" was on a Tuesday....Mike had to go out of town for business for a couple of days, but we agreed to go to my friend's Pumpkin Carving Party on Friday night.
On Wednesday, we began texting and calling each other constantly - staying up late like teenagers getting to know each other. I had told Michael that I would bring the pumpkins for the party if he wanted to bring the tools. He kept asking me what I specifically wanted him to bring and I kept replying "knives, designs, etc....". I couldn't understand why he kept asking! Carving pumpkins is pretty easy! He asked one more time and I told him that I needed Pumpkin Carving Shoes! Size 6 1/2. Thank you! ( I love pushing envelopes!)
So Friday rolled around and for the first time in a long time, i was nervous! Mike picked me up and as he was putting me in the car, he opened the back door to revel the most beautiful pair of shoes! I was absolutely floored! I thought he was going to buy some Crocs or Jellies to continue with the joke, but he bought me leather and suede!
We went to dinner at Nama and had fantastic sushi. I was trying to be all cool and then as I am trying to put a roll in my mouth, the chopsticks slipped and I had a huge piece of fish hanging out of my mouth! My facade was over! Mike and I laughed and then the ice was broken! We went on to the Pumpkin Carving Party and had a blast carving pumpkins and socializing! I have never felt so at ease with someone, it's like we had known each other forever!
Mike and I walked back to the car to grab another pumpkin and as we were grabbing it and more tools, I looked up at him and asked if he was ever going to kiss me - so he smiled and he did! And the rest is history!
Here we are with our first dance....we were supposed to have our first dance to Etta James 'At Last', but there was a glitch with the timing and the sound system, so we ended up dancing to Barry White's 'First, Last, Everything'. Still a wonderful song that sums us up and quite frankly, we both do better with a faster beat!
Our beautiful cake from Magpies Bakery! Michael and I found this perfect cake while cruising the internet - it already had our Fleur de Lis on it and was oval shaped like my center diamond! It was such a perfect fit, we could hardly believe it! We had Red Velvet Cake on 1 layer and Italian Cream Cake on 2 layers! These were the absolute best pairings and I still remember how yummy the cake was! Leah with Whimsical Gatherings did an AMAZING job on the cake flowers as well as all of the flowers for the wedding and reception! I could not have asked for better vendors!
And last, but not least, here we are doing our champagne toast! It was such a joyous feeling to be able to thank all of the friends and family that were with us through the journey! Without them (and the Grace of God!), Michael and I would not be the people that we are and would not have fallen in love and found our fairytale! Life is so good!
