Natural Love

NATURAL LOVE

I am so elated to be in a place where I am embraced with the beauty that surrounds me.
How can I not look around and see God's gracious gifts to me?
It is as if every day has a new gift waiting and I awaken with sheer excitement to see what it has in store.
I fling open the shutters and take in the landscape - the sky in it's vastness, the hills that roll with rocky wisdom, the sun with it's warm beams that tempt my heart into playfulness.
And when I breathe in all of this majestic treasure, I have to wonder why I would ever doubt His love for me.
His proof of undying love is all around me, it is up to me to recognize and take it in.
His is a selfish love, and rightfully so.
Thunder and rain spill down when He has been crossed.
Flood waters rise and tornadoes spin when His will is ignored.
Devastation and turmoil brew on earth as they do in Himself.
It is about now when I think that I have gone too far and am beyond His reach.
But then a calm comes and reminds me of His undying love.
And I make up with Him in my own secret way - confessing my sins and asking for forgiveness.
His response is a loving one - sometimes the gestures are small sometimes they are large.
Perhaps a rose kissed with dew along my path
Or a rainbow sprayed across the sky.
I smile a sweet smile on my face and in my heart,
For I know that He will indeed never leave me.
