Last week, I went to Chicago to accompany Michael for a business trip. I have always wanted to go to Chicago and was so excited for our trip!We saw Kevin Costner in the Nashville airport. He was standing in the security line behind us. This doesn't really excite me much, as he ruined himself with Water World, but I thought I would throw it in.
Il Mulino.... wow. This was by far the best meal I have ever had! Mike said it was the best Italian food that he has had outside of Italy. It is set in an old house and goes up three stories! There were chandeliers and velvet and beautiful decorations and our every need was attended to! We told the Captain that we were about to be married and would be honeymooning in Italy. He was so delighted and insisted that we try as much as possible! So he took half portions and divided them into quarters between us so that we could eat more! It was simply divine....too good for words and beyond anything I could ever hope for! I am so anxious to go to Italy now!
After dinner we took a stroll to Lake Michigan. I am simply in awe of how clean and large and beautiful this was. I had to keep reminding myself that it was not an ocean, but a lake! I dipped my feet in the water and walked around for a bit and found a stone on the shore to keep as a souvenir. Absolutely amazing!
After our stroll to Lake Michigan, we walked to Navy Pier. It was fun, but very touristy. We decided, however, to be the Ultimate tourists and ride the Ferris Wheel. Very cool and definitely a great thing to do on a Summer night in Chicago!
Mike and I are so happy it is ridiculous! Chicago suits us well, don't you think?
