Hilton Head Weekend

A couple of weekends ago, Mike and I headed down to Hilton Head, SC for the weekend to celebrate his dad's birthday as a surprise! Mike's parent's rented a beautiful beach house for the week and we were blessed with spending the weekend with them. The picture above is the view from our room. There were beautiful gardens and a pool and just beyond - the Atlantic! Absolutely beautiful!

Mike and Nick and I rode bikes all over the Island. I have not ridden a bike in years, but I had such a fun time! I felt like I was a kid again and taking in all of the nature and the fresh sea air was so good for the soul! On Saturday, the boys went golfing with Dad and Mom and I went shopping. I really enjoyed spending time with my Mother in Law and the men came back tired but happy with their 18 holes.

We even rode bikes on the beach which I have never done before! How exhilarating! The boys rode ahead and I lagged behind and looked for Sand Dollars. While we were riding we saw a huge school of dolphins feeding and playing not far from the shore. We stopped and watched them for a good 15 to 20 minutes. Definitely something I 'll remember!

Here is Mike at the Salty Dog Cafe. We stopped here for a beverage after one of our bike rides. Such a good way to spend time with each other in such a wonderful place!

I am so anxious to go back to Hilton Head. I think that I could stay there for a month or more! I never thought that I was a beach girl, but I think I might be turning into one now!
