I absolutely adore Christmas Trees. I think they are so magical and calming! I am completely mesmerized when I look at them and find myself staring at the ornaments and lights for hours!
Growing up, we had an artificial tree. Houston is not an ideal place for real trees and my Mom has allergies, so we went the fake route and sprayed pine spray to try to recreate the 'real' feel. Our tree was strictly decorated in white, silver or clear ornaments. It is absolutely beautiful! My parents gave my brother and me smaller trees and garlands to decorate our with own ornaments that we made or liked, which was in it's own way very special!
I have always wanted to go to a tree farm to pick out a tree. I think this looks like such a wonderful experience! I think I would spend hours trying to find just the right one!
And here is our 2011 tree! We put it up the first weekend in December - we just couldn't wait! This is my third year to have a real tree and I absolutely love the way it looks and smells .... cleaning up the needles isn't so bad! I always feel "complete" for the season when the tree is up and lit! Every evening, we turn on the lights and sit in the living room and talk about our day together! I love these special times with Michael and next year, a little one!
This is our favorite ornament for 2011 - I can't wait until this time next year when she is 8 months old and completely mesmerized by the tree and lights and ornaments! There is nothing like seeing Christmas through the eyes of a child!
