Italy - Our Room in Florence

Mike's parent's gave us our honeymoon as a wedding present and we chose Italy! We were so blessed to stay in Florence for most of our honeymoon! They set us up in The Grand Hotel which is set right on the River Arno. This was one of the most beautiful hotels and we had a fantastic stay there!
This is our room! The hotel sent up the champagne that is on the table to congratulate our nuptials! We were so tired after we got it, that we fell asleep and by the time we woke up, it was almost flat. Oh well!
There are fleur-de-lis all over the floors and walls! Mike and I both LOVE fleur -de-lis and it just happens to be the symbol of Florence (Firenze), so they are everywhere!
These murals were scattered about the room and absolutely beautiful!
Check out the bed - it looks like a traditional king, but it is actually two twins that they bound together for us.....very old world and very interesting!

And finally, our room key! This thing weighed around 2 lbs! There was never a question of if we had left it behind or not! More pictures and stories to come soon!
