My Wedding Wednesday - Getting Ready!

A few of the blogs that I read have weekly installments of 'My Wedding Wednesday". Since I am still a blissful newlywed, I figured that I could follow suit! So every Wednesday, I will share photos and hopefully a little backstory to the most perfect day of my life!

Here I am with my Mom! She had just gotten done helping me to get ready and calm my nerves. I am so happy that she was there for me on my special day - there is nothing like a Mom! She was smiling like this all day - actually all weekend - and I could truly see how happy she was for Michael and me. I think my mom was walking on air the whole wedding weekend!

And here I am with Michael's mother! She is helping me with my "something borrowed" which was my wedding jewelry. I wore a beautiful pearl necklace with a diamond pendant and matching diamond earrings. It was absolutely perfect with my dress and completed my look! The fact that my MIL let me borrow the set meant so much to me since the diamonds were the first pieces of jewelry that she bought for herself. After our ceremony, she handed me a little bag and told me to open it while Michael and I were on our way to the reception. She said that I would know what it meant. Inside of the bag was a simple white gold chain - she was giving me the earrings and pendant as a wedding gift!

Here is my completed look. I wanted a classic 1950's look complete with petticoats and a birdcage veil. I was so lucky to find a local couture dress maker who totally understood what I wanted and designed and made my look to perfection! I had so much fun with the entire process and could not be happier with Colleen Moore of White Orchid Bridal!

I think I look a like my Great-Grandmother Burdick here. I would like to think that all of the women who were great influences in my life - both with me and passed on - were with me on my wedding day. The day was so perfect that it would have been hard to think that they weren't watching over us with smiles on their faces and joy in their hearts!
Michael and I wanted to meet before the ceremony both to calm our nerves and to have fresh photo opportunities. Here we are in the room I got ready in talking excitedly to each other. As soon as I saw my groom, all of my nerves disappeared. He is my rock and I find such strength in him. I feel like I have always known him and loved him, I was only waiting to meet him.

This is one of our favorite pictures! We used it for our Holiday Cards this year and I am sure it will find a place on a wall in our home. I had never been as happy as I was here and I only get happier with each passing day. I wish that everyone would find their soul mate and know what true unconditional love feels like. I feel that unconditional love is the meaning of life and the quest for it is what drives us. I am so blessed that I asked God for a 'perfect for Rosemary' man and he gave me Michael. I always love to get exactly what I asked for, don't you? :)
