Boston Trip - Chihuly Exhibit at the BMFA

During one of the days that Michael was in meetings, I decided to take a ride to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts! I was in luck since the special exhibit that was showing was of Chihuly's glass sculptures.

These beauties were three dimensional and looked so delicate and lifelike coming off of the wall.
This is a red chandelier - it literally looks like a firecracker going off right over your head!
These are Chihuly's "Baskets" - He intermingles his glass baskets with real woven baskets to show both the inspiration and the similarity.
These are glass reeds that are positioned on real logs. It reminded me of being in an ethereal swamp somewhere.
This was one of my favorite pieces! This is a life sized row boat filled to the brim with a plethora of Chihuly's creations. It was so whimsical and colorful and just looked like an animation had exploded!

I am going to be posting more of the Chihuly exhibit in future posts - it is definitely something that everyone should see! And if you ever have a chance to see his masterpieces in person, you simply must!
