Ahhh... The Mille Fiori room ....so breathtaking.
Mille Fiore means One Thousand Flowers.
This exhibit took up an entire room which was very large!

It is so interesting to see what Chihuly's interpretations of Nature are and how he is able to execute them into glass. There are so many nuances of both the male and female elements in nature all throughout this exhibit!

These blue reeds reminded me of water - perhaps rippling on a lake or waving on an ocean...so tranquil.

This makes me think of sundrops in a garden - how they just spill out of the sky and onto the ground below with waves and dots. One of my fondest memories of childhood is laying under a large Oak in my Grandparent's yard, hearing the locusts in the trees and seeing the sun peaking down at me through the leaves.
You can see here how densely packed Chihuly's garden was. It's like the ideas never stopped coming to him. The plaque on the wall said that this was the largest installation to date for Mille Fiori. I am so amazed that his inspiration never ceases!

And last, but not least, the mighty fire of the Sun! Such a glorious piece - I have no idea how tall this was, but it was definitely awe inspiring! The Sun was sitting at the very end of the garden, keeping it's watchful eye and warm embrace over it's plants and flowers. I love how much homage and respect Chihuly seems to pay the Sun in his exhibits!
