Happy First Day of Spring!
Oh the joys of Spring! If you are a Native Texan, this usually includes allergy season, and my house is in full swing of it!
Mike is severely congested and is tossing and turning all night and coughing and sniffing and just plain miserable! It kills me to listen to him! He is not used to having allergies and is still convinced it is a cold, but I consider myself an Allergy Guru when it comes to change of seasons in Texas! I keep trying to have him take tablespoons of local honey, avoid milk, sleep almost sitting up straight, stand in steamy showers, fall in love with Benadryl, etc. Poor guy!
And then there is the cat. Mike and I don't actually own Ben, but due to a long story, he kind of owns us since we live in this house. A long time ago, the previous owner's mother lived in the downstairs portion of the house and Ben (back then it was Ned) was her cat. When she passed on, Ben became a member of other homes on the block and when we moved in 2 years ago, he decided that he wanted to include us in his family. We "share" him with a lady that lives across the street who has taken a new boyfriend and is barely around, so our investment in Ben has increased. I don't mind this at all!
Earlier this week though, Ben came down with what looks like Pink Eye and since he is still primarily an outdoor cat, Michael and I will in no way be trying to gather him up to take him to the vet. So it's off to the feed store for me to see if they have OTC eye drops for poor Ben. I am sure the administration of the medicine will be worth a blog of it's own!
Zeke Zoe and Zeus are doing great and loving the beautiful weather! I hope they take it all in while it lasts because 100 degree days are just around the corner and that means staying inside with lots and lots of air-conditioning! Spring has Sprung - let's just see how long it lasts!
